    Spotlight Deal

There’s quite a lot going for this 1500-watt Emeril Lagasse toaster. It’s a cinch to operate, and we’ve found that it’s particularly good at making toast and baking cookies. If you’re looking to save counter space, this model doubles as an air fryer, too, and its 0.5 cubic foot interior has the capability to turn out a four- to six-pound rotisserie chicken. The best part? It’s nearly half off.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a hefty discount from the original price, and it usually stays on sale for a while, so you have time to decide if it’s right for you.

    Air Fryers

Testers find that the Beautiful by Drew Barrymore 6 Quart Touchscreen Air Fryer’s electronic controls are easy to read, and its programmed settings, easy to use—earning it a high score in our controls test. Cleaning the inside and outside is simple enough, too, and this measured 4-quart model doesn’t produce too much noise. To the delight of décor enthusiasts, this air fryer is available in a range of colors.

Why it’s a good deal: This model is still the cheapest it has ever been, and it’s only available at Walmart. Other retailers have it priced at nearly $100.

You can feed a 4-person family with this large-capacity Bella Pro Series 6-qt. Digital Air Fryer. Though it’s on the noisy side, the digital touchscreen is easy to use and its dishwasher safe basket is fairly easy to clean. Bonuses of this measured 5.2-quart model include preset cook modes, an auto shut-off for added safety, and a 2-year warranty.

Why it’s a good deal: You can score a highly-rated large capacity air fryer for less than $50. What’s not to love?

The electronic controls and programmed settings on the Ninja AF101 are among the easiest to see and use, respectively, earning high ratings in our assessments. Cleaning the inside and outside is fairly simple and the measured capacity of this model is just about average at 3 quarts. Bear in mind that this model runs on the noisy side, with the fan as loud as a countertop microwave.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the same price we saw for Black Friday.

The Oster DiamondForce Nonstick XL 5 Quart Digital Air Fryer’s digital touchscreen is easy to read; and its programmed settings, easy to use—earning it a favorable score in our controls test. This model also doesn’t make too much noise, and cleaning the inside and outside doesn’t take a lot of elbow grease. Despite the air fryer’s name, the basket has a measured capacity of 3.6 quarts. Like other models we tested, this one comes with a one-year warranty.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the lowest price we’ve seen. Best Buy will deliver before the holidays, but Amazon’s shipping time will take longer.

The unique tilt function on this Oster model rotates your food for you—taking away the need for manual turning and contributing to an even crisp. That feature already sets it apart from most of the other air fryers in our ratings. But on top of that, it receives great scores in all our testing categories, is dishwasher-safe, and has a measured capacity of 5 quarts. That means it’s great for families.

Why it’s a great deal: This titanium-infused air fryer (read: easy cleaning) is still on discount.

A CR Best Buy, the GoWise GW22731 air fryer has a measured capacity of 4.9 quarts. Its touch buttons and programmed settings are among the easiest to see and use. And this is one of the quietest air fryers we’ve tested. But the exterior’s crevices and the basket’s nooks and crannies take some effort to clean.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen for this model, beating the previous low by $3.

    Coffee Makers

If you love the look of KitchenAid stand mixers, then you might want to consider this KitchenAid KCM1208DG coffee maker. It features the iconic wraparound metal band from the stand mixers, and offers the performance to match. Its many features include a permanent filter, a removable water reservoir, a cleaning indicator, auto-shutoff, brew-strength control, and programming.

Why it’s a good deal: This brewer beats out machines that cost twice as much, and it’s currently $10 off its list price.

For a brewer with a thermal carafe, consider this deal on the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew BVMC-PSTX91. Our tests show thermal carafes aren’t as easy to hold and pour as glass carafes, but this machine still performs decently for handling. It also offers great brew performance and is quite easy to clean and use.

Why it’s a good deal: This coffee maker is back to its usual sale price, which is $10 more than we saw on Black Friday.

    Countertop Appliances

The Vitamix One is the brand’s simplest blender, therefore it’s not intended for hot soups or thick nut butters. But it thrives with smoothies, sauces, dips and frozen desserts. The blender is streamlined yet high performance, with intuitive controls, a 32-ounce jar, a removable lid plug, and a tamper to push ingredients into its durable stainless steel blades. Like many Vitamix blenders, it’s noisy, but power prevails as it breaks down veggies and frozen fruits.

Why it’s a good deal: This 40 percent discount is the best we’ve ever seen for this blender.

Like its Category 5 name suggests, this gun metal-finish Cuisinart Hurricane Pro blender is noisy, but its commercial-grade horsepower takes blending to the next level. In fact, it’s Cuisinart’s most powerful blender ever. With variable speed control from 1,500 RPMs to a turbo-boosting 30,000 maximum blending power, it also features automatic load sensing, adjustable presets, digital display, and a setting memory function. It comes with an extra large, 64-ounce BPA-free Tritan plastic jar with a soft-grip handle.

Why it’s a good deal: At 25 percent off, this is the lowest price we’ve seen for this model.

This Blue Diamond multi-cooker has an impressive overall performance. It’s stellar at pressure-cooking and sauteeing, and functions as a great slow cooker and rice cooker as well. Its one downside is that the steaming performance is just so-so. This model comes with a 2-year warranty and accessories, including a steam rack, measuring cup, spoon, and condensation collector.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the best price we’ve ever seen for this model.

The Dash Clear View toaster’s clever see-through side panel makes it easy to surveil your slices, making charred toast a thing of the past. And you won’t have to wait too long for it to pop up—this model does very well in our toasting-time test. One downside: It gets only middling marks in our cleaning test, so you may have to put in a little extra effort to get crumbs out of its nooks and crannies.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a few dollars more than the lowest price we’ve seen all year.

Though this blender isn’t among our top-rated, the Calphalon Auto-Speed BLCLMB1 is one of the most reliable models in our tests. The 1,100-watt blender comes in dark stainless steel with a 68-ounce BPA-free Tritan jar, plus a 25-ounce smoothie cup you can take on the road. It weighs 8 pounds, and has a pulse option and a removable blade.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the new lowest price we’ve seen for this model, dropping $10 since last week.

The Vitamix One is the brand’s simplest blender, and therefore it’s not intended for hot soups or thick nut butters. But it thrives with smoothies, sauces, dips, and frozen desserts. The blender is streamlined yet offers high performance, with intuitive controls, a 32-ounce jar, a removable lid plug, and a tamper to push ingredients into its durable stainless steel blades. Like many Vitamix blenders, it’s noisy, but power prevails as it breaks down veggies and frozen fruits.

Why it’s a good deal: At $100 off, the Vitamix One is a good, high-performance starter blender for your kitchen.

    Kitchen Tools

    Aerolatte To-Go Milk Frother

The Aerolatte To-Go is a nifty little handheld frother that’s capable of frothing up a variety of milks both hot and cold, including plant-based milks. Since it’s handheld, it has a bit of a learning curve, but we were able to get the hang of it in just a few minutes. This Aerolatte is also a cinch to clean, as you simply run it in a cup of soapy water for a bit, then run it out of the cup to dry.

Why it’s a good deal: This frother is back to its Black Friday sale price.

The Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Coffee Grinder earns solid scores in all our grind-performance tests, and it’s particularly great at producing coarse grounds, which are ideal for cold-brew and French-press coffee. This model is also easy to clean, but its controls are a bit unintuitive, and it’s one of the noisier grinders in our ratings. The Bodum features 12 grind settings, an auto-stop feature, and a timer.

Why it’s a good deal: The black model is almost 50 percent off the original price, the best price we’ve ever seen for this model.

    Home Goods

On just about every measure, including moisture output and noise, the Crane Owl humidifer soars. It’s convenient to use, though not being able to get a hand into the tank for cleaning is a drawback. The 250-square-foot claimed coverage area is on the high end for a small-room model. Other animal figures in this Crane series include Wyatt the Fox, Puffington the Penguin, Misty the Unicorn, Sidney the Sheep, The Crane Train, Hello Kitty, Freddy the Frog, Mya the Monkey, Violet the Hippo, and Elliot the Elephant. They all perform similarly and may be on sale for similar prices.

Why it’s a good deal: With heating season in full swing, few humidifiers are on sale right now. So a 25 percent discount isn’t bad.

The hOmeLabs HME020006N dehumidifier can remove 35 pints of moisture from the air per day and is one of the quietest models we’ve tested. The tank holds 12 pints of water, and like most models we tested, there’s a timer and an auto-restart feature, handy if there’s a power outage. There’s a clean-filter alert, too.

Why it’s a good deal: This model is still available for its Black Friday price.

    Mattresses

Avocado makes some top-notch mattresses, and this sale is a great chance to save on one. (The Green usually goes for $1,999, and the Green Pillowtop is priced at $2,499.) Both Avocado mattresses support a wide range of side- and back-sleeper body types. On our firmness scale, the Avocado Green is very firm and the Green Pillowtop is medium-firm.

To get the 10 percent savings, use the code SAVE10 at checkout.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the standard discount we tend to see outside of major holidays. But CR members may be able to save a little bit more through an exclusive offer for members only.

If you’re sick of synthetic materials, this is a good time to consider the Birch by Helix Natural mattress, which is made with materials like cotton, wool, and natural latex. Right now, Birch’s End of Year sale os going strong, and you can take $400 off this mattress with the code ENDOFYEAR400. This hybrid innerspring mattress performs well in our tests for most sleepers, getting its highest scores for support when it comes to petite back sleepers. It also tests superbly for durability and stability.

Why it’s a good deal: This is only $50 more than the best discount we’ve seen for this mattress all year. The sale also includes two free Eco-Rest pillows.

The Puffy Lux Hybrid innerspring/foam mattress-in-a-box comes through with above-average support for nearly every size and style of sleeper. The exception: large and tall back sleepers. The durability is impressive, but stability is just average, which could leave sleepers feeling vibrations from a partner’s movements. And this model doesn’t make shifting sleep positions easy. With a firmness rating of one out of 10, it’s quite soft.

Why it’s a good deal: The code SAVE81350 takes a whopping $750 off the list price of this mattress, $50 less than the Black Friday discount but still a huge savings.

    Smart Home Products

The Kwikset Premis smart lock is best for iPhone users because it works with Apple’s HomeKit smart home ecosystem and Siri digital assistant. In our tests, the Premis is very resistant to kick-ins and lock picking, but it’s susceptible to attack from a cordless drill. Still, this lock comes with some very helpful features, including an access log to keep track of who comes and goes, a tamper alarm, an auto-lock feature, and the ability to create and share PINs with others. Just note that because this lock uses Bluetooth and HomeKit, you’ll also need an Apple TV, Apple HomePod, or Apple iPad (that’s constantly plugged into an outlet) in your home to control the lock remotely.

Why it’s a good deal: This model is only $9 more than the best price we’ve seen.

    Vacuums

One of the shortest and lightest robots that CR has tested, the budget-friendly Eufy RoboVac 11S drives under furniture and wiggles away from hazards like power cords and carpet fringe better than most. It struggles to thoroughly clean large areas, but it’s nimble, making it a great option for cleaning a few rooms at a time. It’s also quiet, and the cleaning performance is respectable for its price. Eufy makes a handful of robots very similar to the 11S, but this is the most basic model, and one of the few robotic vacuums still available that doesn’t connect to the internet.

Why it’s a good deal: You can get this vacuum for just $20 more than lowest price we’ve ever seen.

One of the many Sharks in our vacuum ratings, the Shark Rotator Lift-Away ADV DuoClean LA500 rises almost to the top of our bagless upright ratings, acing our tests for bare floors and pet hair and earning a Very Good rating in our carpet-cleaning test. The “Lift-Away” in the model name refers to the fact that you can lift the collection bin away from the main handle and use it as a canister. This comes in handy when cleaning stairs and reaching into corners for cobwebs. Airflow is ample, and the Shark comes with several attachments.

Why it’s a good deal: The original price is reasonable and the discount, the same one we’ve seen since Black Friday, makes it even more of a bargain.

The LG A9 Kompressor lands near the top of our list of worthy contenders. It aces our carpet, bare-floors, and pet-hair tests and leaves nothing behind when you vacuum along the edges of a room. It’s not quite as quiet as some of the other cordless stick vacs we test, but it won’t bother you during short bursts of cleanup. It runs for almost a full half-hour on one battery charge. Better yet, it comes with two batteries.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the lowest price we’ve seen for this vacuum, and it’s now available at Best Buy as well.

A basic robotic vacuum that will work well in small spaces, the Eufy 30C is nimble, quiet, and good at cleaning but not very effective in larger spaces. It also has the option to connect to WiFi so that you can start and stop the robot from your phone, set a cleaning schedule, and integrate it with smart home routines, if you choose.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the best price we’ve seen for this model.

We’re used to seeing iRobot vacuums in our robotic ratings. But the iRobot H1 H121020 hand vac is the first to break into our handheld ranks. It performs well overall and is especially good at cleaning bare floors and picking up pet hair, earning top scores. The rotating brush attachment makes good contact with surfaces, helping boost its pickup scores. It has a trigger that allows you to turn the vacuum on and off, or you can lock it and let the iRobot run. The battery lasts for about 17 minutes when running on high. It weighs just over 3 pounds, which is about average for the handhelds we test.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the best price we’ve ever seen for this model, beating the previous low by $25.

Miele has a sterling reputation for its plug-in vacuums, and the Triflex HX1 is its first cordless model. It earns top-notch scores on almost all our tests. The coolest part, though, is that you can put its parts together in two different styles: a modern stick-type setup, with the weight at the top and a long shaft that can reach into cramped areas, or a more traditional upright configuration, with better balance but a bulkier middle.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the best sale we’ve ever seen on this model.

    Large Appliances

This front-load washer has a capacity of 5 cubic feet, making large loads a breeze. It features auto detergent dispensers, end-of-cycle signal, and WiFi—as well as ColdWash technology and Energy Star certification, helping it earn CR’s Green Choice designation.

Why it’s a good deal: At 26 percent off, this is a great chance to snag this eco-friendly machine.
